Post game reaction…. LOL
Written by Sadler on December 27, 2009 – 4:27 pm -I can’t believe this. I can’t belive this.
How could this team lose this game like that?
Just an absolutely poorly played game. This team acted like a bunch of 5 year olds out there.
- Poor kick coverage
- Poor punting
- 100+ yards in penalties
- Crucial fumbles
- Horrendous blocking at the end of th game
- Dropped TD passes
The sad thing is that the Ravens shut this team down… especially in the 2nd half. I have to blame the coaching on some of this. Who thought is was a good idea to bring Cousins back in the game and allow him to almost single handly hand the game over to the Steelers. The coaching staff needed to identify the problem and solve it more quickly.
So what’s next? Well the Ravens most likely will still make the playoffs, assuming they can win in Oakland. The Jets and Broncos would have to win out in order for that not to happen. But really, how much do we care about playoffs when the team can’t win the big games? I’m not sure I do at this point (This opinion will likely change… but let me have ti for the moment).

All of the above are correct. If, and it’s a big if, the Ravens make the playoffs, what confidence should we have in their ability to win a game?

Of course we will care about the Ravens in any play-off game. I would love to have another shot at the Pats.
Jamison Hensley is reporting that the NFL league office is saying that if the Ravens win they are in the play-offs. Not sure how the tie breaker works out, or what teams it involves.
It is disturbing how many game changing mistakes the Ravens have made this year. All phases have broken down at one point or another. This could have easily been a 11-12 win season if a handful of plays go differently. Some of it is coaching, but some of it is players making stupid mistakes and committing dumb penalties. Coaches can be faulted to an extent, but some of these plays are plays you and I know better than to make.
That said, the Ravens still outplayed Pittsburgh on the road and seem to be peaking at the right time. Win in Oakland and let the chips fall. This is not a Super Bowl team like we all hoped coming into the season, but I will take 1 and done in the play-offs over missing out at 9-7.

I think it’s Billick’s fault.
